According to the law that came into force on 14 July 2022, Highly Qualified Foreign Specialists (HQS) will henceforth have to undergo a second medical examination within 30 days of renewing their work permit. Therefore, medical examinations will be carried out every three years instead of once a year. As had been previously announced, foreign citizens who arrived in Russia before 29 December 2021 for work or other purposes, but for a period of more than 90 days, must undergo a medical examination and fingerprinting. In addition, the period of temporary residence of the minor children of a foreign citizen has been extended: from now on they will be able to stay in Russia as long as their parents.
