Inflation in Russia rose by 6.99% year-on-year in the week from October 31 to November 7, 2023. At the end of October, the Russian central bank raised the key interest rate surprisingly sharply – by two percentage points to 15%. It was the fourth consecutive rate hike since July. The reason given was that inflation pressure had “increased significantly” and was above expectations.
