The Russian economy grew by 5.5% year-on-year in the third quarter, the statistics agency Rosstat recently announced. Wholesale grew the most at 22.9%, followed by retail with 11.3% and industry with 10.2%. Overall, growth was higher than the forecasts of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (5.2%) and the Central Bank (5.1%). Rosstat last reported stronger quarterly growth for October-December 2021 (5.8%).
