Last year, Russian companies paid $1.1 trillion in dividends. Rubles (12 billion euros) paid to foreign shareholders. This is based on data from the Russian tax authority FNS. In the previous year it was 2.9 trillion. Rubles (EUR 31.5 billion). The country that received most of Russia’s payouts in 2022 was the United States. Dividends from US subsidiaries totaled 416 billion rubles (4.5 billion euros). In 2021 it was 607 billion rubles (6.6 billion euros). Distributions to Cyprus fell the most, from 618 billion to 210 billion rubles (2.3 billion euros). Payments to the other major recipient countries, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany and Switzerland, roughly halved.
