The Canadian automotive supplier Magna International has sold its Russian business for 15 million US dollars and is thus withdrawing from Russia. The buyer is the previously little-known company E-Mobil based in Moscow. The deal left Magna a $15 million loss, according to the company’s earnings report. Prior to 2022, Magna had operated several plants in Russia, including locations in the Kaluga Region – around 190 km south of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod. Seats and other components were mainly produced in the plants for foreign car manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Toyota and Mercedes.
