The Russian government has decided to increase the so-called “voluntary payment” it demands when Western companies withdraw from 10% to 15% of the market value. This was announced by Ivan Chebeskov, head of the financial policy department in the Russian Ministry of Finance. The decision is expected to be officially announced soon. Since March 2023, the “voluntary payments” have been one of the conditions for the Russian government’s approval of the sale of Western companies in Russia.
